Remember the days where you needed to get into a locked space and couldn’t find the key or remember the number combination? We have certainly all been in that situation and it can be frustrating to say the least. Even if you always remember where you put the key or always remember the combination to your number lock, neither of these lock types provide adequate security for your belongings.
Number combination locks can easily be figured out since each part of the combination only ranges from 0 to 9 and key locks can easily be picked. Luckily however, there is now a better way to put your stuff under lock and key securely while being able to remember the combination easily. There is now a new type of lock on the market called Wordlock and how it works is in the name.
Rather than using numbers for the lock’s combination, Wordlock uses the combination of letters in order to form words. Using this type of lock provides an added level of security since there are more letters in the alphabet to pick from than there are numbers in your standard combination lock. For a typical word padlock, there are 100,000 possible combinations that the lock user can choose from. Using a Wordlock also makes it easier for you to remember the combination since people tend to remember words that are familiar to them over a set of numbers.
Worried about the style of lock you need not being available as a Wordlock? There is nothing to worry about as Wordlocks come in padlocks, luggage locks, bike locks and there are even locks for commercial uses. Imagine taking a flight and losing the key to your luggage. The only solution you would have is to cut the lock off or take it to an expensive locksmith who is going to charge you more than what the lock was worth. With Wordlock, you are never going to have to worry about this situation and you will still be protecting your assets.
Using a Wordlock gives you the option to choose any word that you want. However, when it comes to security, you should still keep a few different things in mind. As with any combination lock, the longer the word is that you choose, the more secure the lock is going to be. You also don’t want to choose words that family and friends are going to easily be able to figure out. For example, choosing your favorite color or the name of your pet will probably be fairly easy for those around you to figure out. It is best to stick with a word that you will easily remember but one that is personal to you.
Finding Wordlocks is quite easy as you can find them in your local big box stores or on the Internet. Suiting your Wordlock to your personality is also quite easy since they come in several different colors and styles.
